  8. This is just a very quick utility I threw together in a few hours, just for
  9. the hell of it.  I had received a copy of !Bogo_Mips on a magazine disk, or
  10. similar, and when I ran it was disappointed to see that it was not a wimp
  11. application.  Hence this masterpiece, !Desk_Bogo, a desktop front end for
  12. !Bogo_Mips.

  14. This application is not quite as small as I would have liked it to be, but
  15. it's not too bad.  I have included the entire original distribution of
  16. !Bogo_Mips (in the directory 'original') as this is where the actual speed
  17. test code came from (ie that part of it is not my own work).  I have also
  18. included the C source code for the entire application so that you can see
  19. what is in it.  You can also confirm that I have not altered the original
  20. code other than to make the changes required to make the bogo_mips code be
  21. called as a subroutine rather than being the main routine.

  23. You may criticise my code in any way that you wish.  There is a call to two
  24. routines from my own library ("JobLib") of which the source code is not
  25. included.  If you wish for a copy of my library, please write to me for a
  26. copy because otherwise you cannot recompile the code.  (It's not all that
  27. great a library, but it does what I want).

  29. I have also compared the results of my desktop version with that of the
  30. original and there is no difference in results.  On my Risc PC 600 the
  31. result is 11.65 BogoMips.  Please let me know what your system gives.
